The new office of Roche Diagnostics, a world leader in the manufacture of medical diagnostic equipment, is located in the business center Vivaldi Plaza. The business center has high ceilings and spacious rooms with columns increments of 8.4 m, panoramic facade glazing, which provides plenty of natural light to the office space and makes it possible to plan floors.

The interior needed to reflect the reliability and high-tech companies, to create a strict and at the same time cozy atmosphere. In this regard, the emphasis was placed on the resting areas that are deep within the office. All lounges were big and with a lot of light passing through by using glass partitions.

Design feature
A key aspect in the design of open space was the height of open space delimiters. It was necessary to find the optimum height for the screens and cabinets for which the employees would feel isolated enough, without losing the feeling of a single workspace. For the employees to work comfortably in the office, a large number of so-called phone booths were provided. Those are small secluded spaces for phone conversations and private conversations.

Veneered panels look seamless thanks to the skillful selection of veneer. For the reception area in addition to the desks with frosted glass we also made two built-in desks for printed products. The chest of drawers on this site are made using a special technology, they have a double hull, the outer casing is seamless. The chest of drawers is attached to the walls at a height of 200 mm from the floor. We also upholstered acoustic panels with fabric, for negotiation areas and offices. For cafes we made rack ceilings, countertops made of artificial stone and long sofas, headboards which are aligned with flower pots. Cabinet furniture, wardrobes, including bilateral furniture were prepared which also served as space delimiters.

In 2013 the project was nominated for the prestigious award of Best Office Awards in the category of “Comfort and ergonomics”.
